The trophy

In 2006 I won a competition in NCAD to design a Grand Prix Trophy for Gaelscoileanna.

My concept for the trophy was to include elements that referenced artistic and entertainment images but also had elements of Ireland, both rural and urban landscapes.

The piece is made from porcelain, wood and silver.

The competition

The Scléip! competition began in 2005. It is a talent competition aimed at pupils attending Irish medium secondary schools throughout the 32 counties of Ireland. The main aim of the competition is to encourage pupils attending Irish medium secondary schools with regard to using their Irish through the various performing arts by giving them the opportunity to take part in a innovative and exciting competition.
